About Me

As a member of Royal Musical Association and New Music Scotland, I actively engage with music groups and participate in interdisciplinary projects in both UK and China as a composer and pianist. My music has been featured at various prestigious events, including the Glasgow Plug festival, Sound Festival, London Opera festival, BBC Scotland Radio and China Contemporary Music Week. In my artistic practice, I strive to capture personal reflections stemming from my multi-cultural life experiences and religious influences, and explore the narrative way in which I can convey deep emotions and deliver my musical language and aesthetics. Additionally, as a PhD qualified full-time lecturer with two years of experience at Sichuan Conservatory of Music, I teach compositional principal studies, develop curriculum structures for undergraduates and postgraduates, and conduct the individual research in the realm of multi-cultural fusion and conflict.

My Journey

My journey began in Chengdu, Southwest China, where I was born and raised. Chengdu's unique geographical location and rich history have fostered a cultural melting pot, blending local traditions, folk customs, and diverse religious beliefs including Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. This rich tapestry of cultures has deeply influenced my music language, subtly revealing my cultural roots through texture and timbral structures.I enjoy traveling, as it allows me to connect with people from different cultural backgrounds and experience various lifestyles and perspectives. Following on my interests in contemporary music and cross-cultural research, I went abroad and pursued my further achievements, pushing the boundaries of music and experiment with innovative techniques and to explore new avenues of artistic expression.
Throughout my journey, I have found inspiration in the diverse landscapes, cultures, and experiences I have encountered. Whether through music or other forms of expression, I am eager to document and share the insights and inspirations that have shaped my creative path.
